AQUATIC BODYWORK

*This class qualifies for 16 CE hours with

NCBTMB Approved Provider #748

Aquatic Bodywork is a blend of Massage and Thai yoga massage in the water.  It combines movements, stretching and stillness to increase mobility and flexibility.

Clients are gently floated in a warm therapy pool (95 degrees), supported by floatation devices, while the therapist uses gentle swaying, rocking, stretching and rotation, allowing the client's body to unwind and completely relax. This type of treatment is also very low impact on the therapist.

"Dive" into the art of Aquatic Bodywork in this 2-day class designed for massage therapists, physical therapists, and orthopedic therapists. Begin your exploration of working effectively in water to facilitate relaxation and improve mobility.

•    Master Aquatic Flow: Learn and practice a complete sequence of aquatic massage flows, integrating techniques that enhance the client's experience while floating in the water.
•    Support Client Mobility: Develop proficiency in guiding clients through a series of gentle oscillations, rotations, and stretches designed to increase their mobility and flexibility.
•    Hands-on experience: Apply joint mobilization, passive stretching, oscillation, and effective client positioning to maximize the therapeutic benefits of movements in water.
•    Optimize Practitioner Ergonomics: reduce physical strain and prevent injury while performing aquatic massage.

Classes are currently taking place in Rapid City, SD.  If you have a heated therapy pool, and would like to have a class in your location, contact Chantelle.

Class supplies:

You will need grippy pool shoes.  I like these: https://a.co/d/amdG0m4

Bring several towels each day, and clothes that are easy to move in and change into/out of.  If you have an extra swimsuit, I recommend you bring that (I hate changing into a wet suit).

The pool in Rapid City has individual shower facilities.  We will be in the pool for 4 hours each day, with an early morning session (starting at 730am) and an afternoon session.  Each day will have a long lunch break.  When we are not in the pool, we will be doing some training on dry land.
