Seated Ashiatsu
Take the stress off your hands and learn to work with your feet.
This class teaches a 40-minute upper body treatment that can be incorporated into any massage. You will learn how to apply massage moves and compression safely and easily with your feet. No need for expensive equipment or bars- just a stool!. Get introduced to Ashiatsu and see if you enjoy working with your feet. Experience how it takes pressure off working with your hands. This class will include a discussion on "How to introduce your clients to a new modality"!
These movements call for some core and leg strength. But don't worry, you will develop that strength as you practice!
A week before class, I will send out a materials list of what you need to bring.
*This class qualifies for 8 CE hours with
NCBTMB Approved Provider #748
In this class, I will teach you how to use your feet to massage while seated on a stool at the head of the massage table.
Class size is limited, so there is plenty of individualized instruction.
Class Prep
Arrive at class with clean, soft, feet. Soften your feet with a foot file or pumice stone. You can test the softness of your soles on your calf or inner forearm. Your toenail nails should be short and filed. You may want to shave your calves.
Capris or leggings are great to wear while performing Seated Ashiatsu. You can also roll up your pants to your knees. You don't want any extra material from your clothing hitting the client.

Stool – you need a stable 29” stool. No swivel, no wheels. If you have an electric table, you can get away with a 24” stool. . Here is one I recommend: https://a.co/d/a7aAiaV
You are required to provide yourself with a massage model to work on during class. This class is mostly hands-on. (or feet on!) You may need a different model before lunch and after lunch so your model doesn’t get over-worked.
